MOUNTAINS OF MAGIC (IDANRE)

Idanre Hill is a breathtakingly beautiful natural landscape in Nigeria.

The name “Idanre” was coined out of two words; “Idan” meaning magic, and “Aare” meaning person. In ancient times, the people of Idanre were well known for their magical powers. They were therefore refered to as “The People of Magic”, or “The Magic People”. The hills which sits at a lofty 3000 ft above sea level, includes well known cultural sites as the Uwa quaters, Agbooogun footprint, Arun yeye, and numerous shrines.

The history of Idanre is as magical as its name. This documentary takes you from the steps of Idanre hills to its very peak, while telling the stories behind these mountains. The history of Idanre is as magical as its name.
